-He was well rested, and all was quiet. Crescent Moon had followed the bank of the river from its serene basin, plodding along slowly to follow it to it's source. It was a silent mission--a sort of game--to pass the time and to, hopefully, meet some of the other wolves of this vast place.
Coming to the waterfall, Crescent stopped and threw his head back, watching the water as it roared and fell from above. It gathered in many little pools before rushing off, and the bank was soggy as water sprinkled off the fall. Quiet eyes watched a few fish as they fought the current, ultimatly loosing to turn downstream once more.
Crescent Moon yawned, and watched the sun begin to dip below the horzion. He had been following the river all day, expending what energy he had gathered from his first stop. Resting on his forepaws, he snapped at a few blades of grass.

gonna RP Akisu for a little while longer here since at her other site, no one is posting ;-; and before I pick an RPer for here anyway I wanna post her =3
She hopped along. Yes, she hopped. Quite similar to a rabbit too, bouncing along for really no reason what so ever. That was one way she kept herself busy and entertained with most of the adults mewling around injured from the fight. She still hadn't seen her mother since then. Hmmpf. There really wasn't a whole lot to do around here. Maybe she could go meet some other pack wolves or prowl the pack edges to look for wolves. Maybe.
The femme decided to use her long and noodle-like limbs to test how far she could jump. There was a fallen log a ways ahead. Hmm. A possible idea was forming. She could combine a long distance leap with a height one if she ran a little ways then hopped the log. So..that was the plan.
Akisu took off sprinting, she needed to close a bit of distance between her and the log for a better jump. Once at a better distance, she leapt, hindquarters propelling her off the ground and forward through the air. She cleared the log but barely, her hind paws skimming it and causing her to falter a bit. But, that wasn't the whole problem. To her surprise, there was a dip in the earth on the other side of the log, something that she hadn't prepared for.
Since she hadn't gotten ready for a landing that was much lower than anticipated, she landed in a very ungraceful manner. She flopped along, almost falling completely down but scrambling to regain as much composure as she could possibly muster. As she scrambled to her feet, she noticed a wolf. There was water there too. Guess all that had snuck up on her while she had herself preoccupied with hopping.
"Erm, hi." she said, grinning sheepishly as she wandered closer to the male and past the forests edge. The wolf'd probably seen her lovely landing, watched her come rolling out of the forests. Heh, oops.
wow, rambletastic C=

-Crescent had been relaxing close to the stream, listening to the quiet babble of the river as it jounced off the rocks from its rushing source. It was a pure white noise, that sound, blocking out many of the other sounds that would normally fill the whole of his attention.
Including, of course, the jouncing rustle of an oncoming wolf. Crescent did not hear her bound, did not hear the soft sway of the grass as she parted it with her long body. He did, however, catch the faintest whiff of her scent on the breeze --and it was this that caused his head to lift, just as she cleared the log and took her most humble roll.
He did not look away -- as many onlookers to a slightly amusing event are rare to do -- and he did not give any indication that he thought her plight was amusing at her expense. On the inside such matters may have been different, but he waited instead of her to finish her enthusiastic bound before standing to greet her.
Now, there were many remarks he could have made, none of which were are caustically sore as to inquire if she had enjoyed her trip, so to speak. Rude jibes, chuckles, a roll of the eyes or the quick glance in the other direction all were at his disposal -- but he did none of them. In fact, he thought her quite endearing, and her soft greeting stirred his tail to swing side to side as it remained stationed half-mast.
"Hello," He said plesantly, his words a rushed breath of air. His nose wrinkled before him as he partook further in the breeze that cast her scent towards him; and he risked a few steps in her direction as he continued his speech,- "that was quiet an entrance -- I definatly choose the more boring approach when coming here."

She moved a few strides closer to him, wagging her tail a bit, not violent, extreme happiness wagging, just flipping it back and forth. She was a happy wolf, strange, but happy. This male didn't look nearly as threatening as Xaden, her last random wolf encounter. Truthfully, Xaden scared her a little bit at first, more like a lot but we get the point. Akisu seated herself and coiled her tail around her haunch, sitting there with a sheepish grin still plastered across her face. She was acting like her tumble from the woods wasn't a big deal, almost expecting some sort of comment on it from the male.
When he did nothing of that sort, she was quite a bit surprised. He just said a mere "Hello," followed by a bit of a comment on her entrance, but nothing snide like she'd expected. She nodded and continued to smile while saying "Yeah well, I didn't intend on such a festive entrance, it sorta just...happened." All in truth, it was supposed to just be a hop over the log, not barely clear the log then go tumbling right into the clearing then find a wolf. Heh, well, things don't always go as planned.
She glanced over at the water for a moment, emerald eyes wide and expressive, whether she liked it or not. Soon, she was watching the male again. He was good sized, but then again, most wolves were in comparison to her, her and her spindly limbs and such. Yay. He must be new, judging by the scents woven into his pelt. There were other wolves' scents too, possibly a hinting of her mother too. She didn't comment on that, saying 'I smell mother on you' just didn't sound too good. Plus, it was weird. "By the way, I'm Akisu. I'm guessin' you're new around here." she said. He deserved to atleast know her name. Mrr. Maybe she'd hint around at her missing mother later on, but that wasn't too important.

"Most of the greatest achievements in one's life tend to just...happen." Crescent opened, a touch of a wolfish smile gracing his features. It could be foreseen that he was not completly referring to her fall -- that in itself was perhaps no great feat...but..in the end of it, he had been graced with meeting a new face; one that he hoped to follow to friendship.
"I am Crescent Moon," He affirmed, after her name had been granted. Akisu..he didn't know what the name meant, but it was a soothing name, not unplesant to the ears -- unlike his own, which meant much to imagry but did little to grace the palette. In addition, it would appear that he could not hide his stranger's apperance -- having only been one day in this place he was not without that foreign stance. "And yes, I have just arrived early this morning, just before sunrise. You Alpha has graced me with a Subordinate title, although in time I hoped to be accounted for more." He paused, knowing how concieted this may have sounded. It wasn't as if he wasn't grateful, but pack life was very important to him -- the greater his part, the greater sense of his deep ties to this place would become. Arrogant? Maybe...but there was much he was willing to fight for, and much he had hoped to obtain.
"And you?" He asked Akisu, moving an inch or so, so that thier noses now nearly touched, "Have you been here all your life?"

"Most of the greatest achievements in one's life tend to just...happen." Wise words for sure. Deep too, but she knew what he meant, the meaning much deeper than her 'graceful entrance'. The little femme just smiled softly, still quite a bit relived to find a wolf who didn't look like he would eat her for dinner. He was turning out to be a nice wolf. He'd said his name was Crescent Moon. Nifty. Also that he, like she'd suspected, was new. A brand new subordinate and that he'd spoken with the Alpha, the reason for her smelling Toorima on him.
He seemed pleased with his new pack too. That was good. Many of the wolves here did seem quite a bit pleased with the way things were handled around here. She hadn't heard any of them saying anything about not liking it here anyway. Well, if they didn't like it, they could always up and leave but that didn't really matter right now. Akisu's ears set even further forward as he addressed her. "And you? Have you been here all your life?" She thought for a moment. Well, time to explain.
"I heard I was born here then taken off someplace else by a sort of 'foster mother' for what they all say was my own good when I was really little. I came back a few months ago while it was still autumn to find mom, the Alpha. I haven't really asked her to elaborate on everything yet. I just heard that my dead father wasn't all too charming and that Toorima was sick and things were a mess." she said, explaining things to the best of her knowledge. "But, things are better now!" she flitted, smiling and poking the side of his snout with her own in a friendly manner.

"It would seen we share more than a packland in common," Crescent started, running his nose along her muzzle in return. "I, too, was raised by an adopted mother." He dropped his muzzle a bit, perhaps in the respect that he was now addressing the Alpha's daughter. He knew nothing about the past of these lands, but her few words gave him a glimpse into the heartache that must now be lifting its shadow. It was no wonder he had not heard yet of the Alpha Male--indeed, he was quiet glad he would not have to submit to one she insinuated to be as uncaring as the one past.
"But," He continued, his eyes lifting to meet the depth of her own,- "sometimes those things can make you a better wolf in the end. It may be difficult to understand, but I doubt your Mother--who thinks also as an Alpha--would have done anything that was not in your best interest as her offspring." He was stating the obvious, and it occurred to him that she might be boring of his speech; stated, so it seemed, as if to just hear himself speak. And so he sat back upon his haunches, tail curled slightly around his hindlegs; his thick pelt and body giving the impression that he was hunching over instead of just sitting upright.
"When did you return?" He asked quietly, commenting on the tail end of this statement,- "I have not seen your Mother since my acceptance...in fact, you're the first wolf I've met otherwise."[/i]

His first sentence intrigued her. What else could they have in common. She sat back and listened intently, curiosity at a maximum. Wow, he too had been raised with a foster mother? She had never met someone else who'd shared that experience with her. Nifty. The wolfish smile remained firmly planted across her face, and tail flickered back and forth back by her haunches.
As he continued, she kept listening. She nodded throughout his words, keeping her eyes centered on his, she knew this, knew that her mother had made the decisions that she had to benefit her. Lani, the adoptive mother, spoke to the, at the time, quite young Akisu about her mother, the desperation in her voice as she searched for someone to take care of her child while she dealt with Orin.
When Crescent asked when she returned, she had to think for a moment before replying. "Well, it must've been a few months ago, haven't really been keeping track. It was just a little while after I left the pack Lani'd taken me to live in." she said, shrugging a bit. The name Lani was used in the statement like the wolf she was speaking to knew her, which was not the case, she just felt comfortable with him and didn't bother to elaborate.A short while after completing that, she continued with, in regards to his final statement, she said "I guess she's busy. Since I've been here, I've found that she can be quite elusive in these lands. I don't know."

-There were many soft influxions in the female wolf's voice to indicate exactly everything she meant. Even though the names meant little to him, or that he was not privy to the situation; he gleaned from her stature and her tone that made it easy just how to put everything together.
"The lands seem very..large," He stated, taking a glance around as he said so, "And I'm sure what with the ending of the past events, she's found her hands full to re-settle her lands. I just suppose in that time that it takes we'll just relax until needed," He yawned playfully, and swatted his muzzle with his forearm to clear some dirt from his muzzle. One done, he stood up and stretched his legs- "Where were you before we so nicely blundered into each other?"

She rose to her feet, mimicking that action of the male, sort of anyway. She didn't swat her snout or yawn really, but she didn't need to get up and only did it because he did. Akisu hopped up to her feet and shook a bit, flexing her toes and gripping the earth a few times before finally standing still, auds still at full attention to Crescent. These lands were quite large, like he'd said. She had learned that while roaming around it. That might've been a contributor to why she misplaced that mother of her's so easily. No matter.
"Where were you before we so nicely blundered into each other?" Well, a few places. It'd been a bit busy earlier. Just for the sake of talking, she told the long version of her 'adventures'. "Hmm, I had spoken with a new pack wolf not all too long ago at the hunting grounds. He was a little scary. I roamed around for a while, being a bit bored at the time then turned up here. Guess that was about it." she said, her energetic and friendly nature finding a way into tones of her speech.

"A little scary?" He inquired, tipping his head rather comically,- "did you run into the big bad wolf?" A small chuckle escaping as a soft whuff, "I must say that must have proved interesting -- all I did this morning was follow the stream," And, truthfully, it did sound as dull as he implied; and wondered just as to why he had engaged such a task in the first place...
But it was the mid afternoon now, and the dusky sun cast its late afternoon slashes across the high sky. Already, in the dead of winter, shadows were creeping underneath the trees; and the scuttle of small rodents for their dens was heard beneath the brush.
His tail wagged slowly, as if testing the air; and his paws shuffled over the ground towards the sound..- "You hungry?"

Akisu watched him. Something she found she did often when speaking to others, look them up, down and all around. Most of the time, she didn't realize when she did it until she'd gathered enough visual information on the said subject. Well, glancing off of him, she looked at the water. Reflections of all sorts of things danced along on the surface. The changed sky did as well, she didn't even have to look up to see that it was changed and night was coming sooner than they might've thought. Ah well, no way to do anything about that.
She listened. Yes, that other wolf was a bit scary, to her anyway. Others didn't seem so bothered by him but she did. So yeah, maybe she did run into the big bad wolf. She giggled a bit. The sounds of little critters scampering about drew her attention to them now. Her eyes watched the brush where she'd been sure the sounds'd come. Hmm. "You hungry?" Well, hadn't really though much about it until the sound of possible prey critters about and the mention of hunger. It'd been some while since she'd had a decent meal so yeah, guess some food wouldn't hurt. "Well, now that you say that, I think so." she laughed, continuing to eye the brush with wide, youthful eyes.

-His tail wagged at her response, his nose tickling the air. He smelled rabbit, squirrel, and chipmunk..the latter would not be a tasty treat, but if they could snag a rabbit engorged with winter fat; they could have a nice snack, indeed...
Silent paws glided over soft snow, muting even the heaviest of steps. He lowered his head and his tail, his eyes scanning the brush as if to penatrate right through its heavy thicket. The rabbit might have the ability of camoflogue, but the wolf had its uncanny smell. The wind carried in cupped hands the lingering scent of their prey, and it guided Crescent's nose with superb accuracy.
He started flanking the rodent, keeping downwind. If he could spy its hold, he could drive it away from it, and into the maw of his comrade. Having pinpointed the rabbit to be just under the closest thicket, his eyes left his prey to locate its hiding place...-

Akisu stood, all four feet squared, flexing her toes slowly, almost ceasing the tail wagging that'd been almost continuos from the start. Her tail hung still, almost stiff, she held it firmly that way, just so it wouldn't accidentally scare a possible prey item. She was anticipating getting something decent to eat, plus, she had someone to sit around and eat with her, that made it a bit better. Things were fine right now.
Rich emerald eyes, scanned the brush. Those eyes were what tied her to her sire, the thing she clearly inherited from him. That is what everyone told her and those eyes were what those who knew Orin noticed most about him as well. The bushes rustled once, she tensed and began to slink towards them, slowly lowering her body to the ground, side-glancing to Crescent to make sure he was on the same page as she was. Once close enough to the bushes, Akisu hunkered down low. Crescent could possibly corner or even catch the fleeing animal then they'd have a meal. All she had to do now was decide when and where to pounce.
There was a louder rustle, she looked over at Crescent again, nodding, hoping he'd be getting this message she was trying to relay to him. With a propulsion from her hindquarters, she hopped herself closer the bushes, moving as silently as she could. She could see a rabbit, eyes wide in shock as it realized it was being cornered, blocked from it's hiding place, the place he was heading too for a nice rest until he noticed the brute there. The rabbit had been oblivious to the wolves until just a second ago, it'd almost been too late for him to notice the male blocking him. It was relatively good sized too, if they could catch it, it'd be a nice snack.
The rabbit took off, darting through the foliage. Akisu used her lanky form to an advantage and took off after the rabbit. Stealth wasn't needed since it'd already spotted them. She grinned and kept chasing for a moment, until she launched herself at it. She pinned it under her paws for a moment, it got loose the first time, but it's escape was slow so she was able to pin it again. But it wouldn't hold still, it kept wiggling.

-Action sprang with fluid slow motion across his gaze. He saw the sleek form of Akisu as she sprang; heard the rabbit's whiskers as they grazed the foliage. In but a fraction of a moment the two were off, but Crescent judged and foresaw each tense second.
Crescent remained at the prey's flank, but there really was no need for such manuevers. The young Akisu was a skilled in speed, and her long limbs outreached that of the skuttling rodent. With a spray of dirt he saw the predator and prey meet, and he dashed in to close the distance.
In her diminutive paws, the large rabbit squirmed. It didn't appear as if much damage had come to the animal, which was unfortunate. He looked thoughtfully at Akisu, hesitatant to intervene. It was her kill, afterall, and he was not about to steal her victory. The constantly squirming object was yet of great interest, and his eyes dropped to the creature in her paws; his own great forelimbs smacking at the ground in a play-stance, his muzzle emitting a bark as if to usher a more secure hold along.
