Zolo was trotting, grass licked his belly and his tail but he still carried on. He halted, looking around. His vision was sharp, but he didn't see any other wolves. He had come here to find out about the "local" pack, joining might be a bonus. Ears cocked forward he continued his jouney, where it would lead, that thought would have to wait. He put his head to the ground and sniffed it intaking an array of different scents. Prey, grass, flowers, dew, birds and the odour of wolves, they had been here! He cast his eyes above the grass round hopefully, but still nothing. Reluctently he tipped his head backwards and let out a howl. It rose then ended by erriely dropping the howl low. The sound echoed across the land, and Zolo waited for an answer.

A howl wafted through the silence, meeting the harks of the Alphess. This call, this song, the trademark melody of the wolf had emerged from the depths of her borders, the large, sweeping forests that separated her land from all others. Slowly, the ebon wolfess began her search for the source of this howl, a howl that asked to speak to anyone, most likely a call for acceptance into a new land, a new home, and for most, a brand new beginning.
Flared nostrils took in the scent of the rogue, noting that it was a male wolf. Nothing else seemed out of the ordinary, by scent at least, this brute at her borders at least smelled normal. That's one step at least. Now, the image of this rogue was visible, able to been seen by the doubled-toned eyes of this Alphess. That damn blue-grey eye, the constant reminder of that monster, that creature who she once dared to love and trust. Orin. A shudder crept down her spine at just the memory of him. Now, he was dead, a very good thing, and her daughter, but also Orin's progency as well, had returned. Akisu was back, back with her and safe.
Before she'd realized it, the obsidian pelted czaress was close enough to the rogue wolf to begin the 'inspection' and introduction. She lifted her plume, exhibiting her high rank and dominance over others. Boa arched, lifting her cranium well up above the height the other wolf held his own at, gazing at him with one faded azure eye and one, still vibrant golden occuli, mainly with the flaxen eye, the one that was able to see better, get a better image than the other, hazy one. "Greetings. I am Toorima, Alphess of these lands." the vix' said in a regular tone. "What is your business here?" she added, it sounding more malicious than the first stream of words, but not really all that threatening, just more, demanding.
