(anyone can join in. :])
It might have been spring, but the air still held winter's chill to an extent. He had travelled through winter and it's snows – all of which still littered the ground in low-lying, shaded places – but it was safe to say that Aeon did not have one clue if this was a good enough place to linger. He was a dirty vagabond by trade (roughly, a jack of trades) and a tired one at that, but it was rather interesting that out of all of the lands he had viewed in passing just once, he had chose to come back to this particular one.
'Ghosts, huh?' he thought, amused with a couple of facts. Aeon didn't believe in ghosts by any stretch of the imagination, but the fog had it's ways of playing tricks on him, that was a given, anything could be made to look like a ghost with all of that fog. Moving through the fog as it curled around his legs as though they were going to suck him down into the ground or something to that effect. And yet, nothing did just yet, the ground was much too hard despite being cracked. And just like the cracked surface of the riverbed, the bottoms of his feet were calloused and cracked in the same way.
He sighed, stopping in the middle of the fog and cast his gold-eyed gaze to the stars that dotted the sky. The fact that some of them were already burnt out already but the light had yet to fully reach all of them was really something. Aeon didn't know how anyone would be able to navigate the stars if they were just going to burn out randomly one day. "Hmph," he made a noise, rather than saying anything. Everything was going to burn out one day, and with that thought, he moved on, 'wading' in the fog.

Slits for eyes watched the grey wolf silently. Ratha's whitish ears curved over to the wolf as it let out a strange sound. The ground underneath the wolf cracked as he stepped onto it, and she wondered who he was. Nami, her cub, was sleeping somewhere near the center of the forests, nowhere near here. Creeping out from behind a large tree-like bush, her soft pads made the same crunchy noise against the ground. Er..hello. She said, noting the awkwardness of this meeting.
The ghostly fog that covered the surface danced around her legs, then settled back onto it again. Ratha grinned, trying to be friendly, but feeling a little odd around this riverbed.
She looked around, seeing if anyone else was here, but it looked like it was just this wolf that was here. I'm Ratha. She said happily, still feeling strange.
OMG its really crappy but I couldn't think of anything ;-;sorry

(sorry about the wait.)
He smelled the feline long before he saw her, but Aeon was definately on guard at the thought of being stalked. While wolves and large felines had gotten along for ages, he didn't want to be a casualty if indeed this one was violent. Instinctively, his hackles rose in a jagged ridge along his neck and back as he moved through the fog, one foot in front of the other.
It wasn't too long before the bulky and yet stunning figure of the feline appeared, her much larger frame dwarfing his own lanky frame, her lips uttering a greetance in a pleasant tone. He parted his lips as though to speak, although he didn't say anything first, only kept his distance. It was a normal 'fear', if one could call it that, although Aeon was not afraid of the hulking cat by any stretch of the imagination. Paranoid, maybe.
"Hello," he said in a flat tone, holding his position firmly while the fog curled in front of him, slightly skewing the image of the tan feline in front of him. "I didn't know that your kind lived here, or are you the only one?"
Nevermind his name, he was curious now.

It was a rather odd meeting, for Ratha just stood there as if this was a horribly normal time for a cougar to speak with a wolf. Her being herself she liked wolves. There was not a single reason why she would hate them, so far none had tried to get at her cub. If any of them did try she would kill them. She was rather good at fighting because of two main reasons; one was her weight advantage not to mention claws, and two was her intellegance which made up heavily for her strength. Being cougar she was rather strong, but it was not one of her heavy advantages. No skinny and non-prepared wolf would go anywhere near her. Usually wolves had this thing of groups, where they'd fight and hunt in groups. To Ratha, this seemed highly strange. For she was a solitary animal except for her mate and cub.
It seemed highly apparent that this wolf was cautious of the feline, slinking back a bit as he spoke. When he asked her the question, she stood and looked down at nothing, moving her eyes around and trying to think of a proper way to answer this. I have found that I am the only one, though my daughter lives with me as well. She said, continuing with her more sweet and honey like tone. She happens to be asleep at the moment but if you'd like I could have you meet her sometime. She said, smiling rather pleasantly. She wondered what would ever happen if her mate found out about this. She tried to play a scene out with her mind including that situation, but the screen ihn her head remained blank.
Again she remained smiling at the wolf, writing his name down on her invisible list that he was friend and not foe. Hell she only had two main foes; Dhrejon and Toorima. Toorima seemed evil, for the only time Ratha had ever met her she had been tearing thrugh the laws of Guardian Forests and her followers had been being quite rude as well. She had no intention on getting revenge on any of the wolves not involved. The Guardian wolves, had pointlessly gone and started something aweful. She didn't know a complete war had broken out, only that they had gone to get revenge. She knew they would not spare the wolves who had nothing to do with any of the plot having to do with the murder of Dhrejon the elder.
Dhrejon however, had prossibly permanantly damaged Ratha's rib cage. He'd gotten severly angered when he found Ratha had not been watching Dhrejon the first. The elder had been killed violently and Ratha had been away to her den, preparing for her pregnancy. When she had arrived at the cave he'd died in, Dhrejon became furious and rammed into her side, killing her second cub. her ribs still remained with some broken, and she had a very hard to notice limp, but other than that she was fine. But now she was frightened that Dhrejon may seek more revenge on her and kill her only cub born alive, Nami.
All of these aweful thoughts raced through her mind, reminding her of the hole in her heart; she had to leave Korren when she left. But she remained pleasant, not letting her sadness get ahold of her state at the moment. She remained smiling at this new wolf she'd just met.
ramble o.o;

"I see," Aeon said with a quiet drawl, assessing the situation the best that he could. If her, and supposedly her daughter (whom Aeon assumed was young) were the only ones, then there was a chance that the lands would eventually spit them out, sending them away. At least, he could only hope so. Aeon had never heard anything good about the felines that sometimes invaded (or, inhabited) grounds that wolves had been on, and come the winter months and so on it often became a struggle over food, over shelter.
They had invaded the pack he had been born into, or of. He hesistated greatly, slack-jawed in a sense and completely unsure of what he wanted to do. Given how the female feline was being towards him, perhaps she was naive, or naive enough to give him a general synopsis of the areas around him. "Then you've been here a while, I assume? I've been by here before, but I can't say I'm too familiar with these surroundings." he spoke in a political way, a smile on his face.
While what he had to say was halfway true, and halfway a lie, Aeon knew enough about the grounds that he felt he could get away from the critter if it chose to come after him. Shuffling his feet in a sub-concious way, he let himself go a little more near the feline, as though she would understand his gesture of wanting to move around, and perhaps gain a better perspective of the foggy terrain, but if she didn't, he was there to state so. "Ah, perhaps you might be able to give me a tour of sorts?"

Apparently he was a bit new to the lands, at leaast, that's what it sounded like. She herself had only just arrived here, though she'd been living very near here fr a few months. When he made his point that he assumed she'd been here awhile, she didn't exactly know how to respond. She tried the best she could though. That is not the case. I have lived here for barely any time at all, though I used to live-- she thought for a moment. If she told him that she'd been rather loyal to the Guardian Forest wolves perhaps he would attempt to slaughter her. She could not tell him. --across the vast river the humans refer to as the Columia River. She had lived there, so she wasn't lying. That was where she was born and raised.
He had also asked for a tour before learning she had not lived here long. And I would love to give a tour, but sadly I do not knw this area well. Only the borders I'm afraid. She said rather sadly. Since she'd arrived she'd only lived on the very edges of the vast terra. Afraid that a member of Yamamori would come after her, she stayed in the dense forest where she could easily protect her young and use her advantage of climbing trees. Soon she would have to meet Toorima, either by need or by chance. Surely they would run into eachother one of these days. Ratha didn't know how she would react when that day came. She really didn't like her, but it was hard for the cougar to hate. Hating something was very harsh and she was sure Toorima had her reasons for killing Dhrejon the elder, but for now Ratha really did not like her. The odd thing about her two enemies, was that they were against eachother. You'd think this would seem like a good thing, and Ratha couldn't quite explain why it wasn't a good thing. It just simply wasn't.
Realizing that she couldn't just do nothing about the whole ordeal, Ratha decided it was time to do soemthing about this fiasco. Hey, I was wondering if I could possibly meet up with your alphess some day soon. I have something I need to settle with her. If you could tell her next time you see her? She said pleadingly.
